West Austin Panorama
Overlooking the Hill Country west of Austin, this Rob Roy residence features resort-level amenities and practical installations, all integrated directly into the native landscape. Custom stained woodwork on the balcony and fencing echo traditional Swedish woodworking and staining methods, but the form and function are distinctly modern, with a full outdoor kitchen/bar, lounge area and two outdoor showers. Extensive landscaping reveals a lily pond and stream fed by recirculating water, and the homeowners enjoy a covered gardening and planting workshop with their children. The luxurious setting is accentuated by hand-laid stone and extensive plantings that embrace the natural landscape.
