South Austin Sanctum

Innovative design and precise engineering were required to transform this small, flood prone, and steeply sloped backyard into a beautiful space for recharging and entertaining. Stone walls extending from a cocktail pool create a striking backdrop while retaining the steep grade and supporting plantings that provide privacy and cascade into the space below. A cocktail pool features an exquisite drink ledge showcasing Japanese joinery by Shota Yamaguchi inset into the stone walls. A kebony deck connects the pool to the home and offers complete versatility for entertaining and seating.
